Description
This song is more fun than meaningful. We love throw-back songs and that's what we were going for. It has a little bit of every style that has influenced our sound. Maybe if it came on the radio in the 50's, it wouldn't be out of place? I think we were all born in the wrong time period.
Lyrics
Pray for the light of day By: Julie Livingston Performed by: Wise Ruby Vincent Catchetorie told a long sad story Said "listen to what I say, I took a long hard fall from the top of a wall It done took my breath away. But a man ain't a man if he can't understand When to go or when to stay -well he can run and hide Or take it all in stride Or he can pray for the light of day And that's what I did Hey hey I was prayin for the light of day Well you can run and hide, Or take it all in stride Or you can pray for the light of day Lucy Cavenaugh stood proud and tall After what had come her way Told a tale so grim it nearly shook us all Said "listen to what I say You know a girl ain't a girl If she can't find a needle in a Big 'ole stack o' hay Well she can throw her hands up Waste time gettin' stuck Or she can pray for the light of day And that's what I did Hey hey I was prayin for the light of day. You can throw your hands up Waste time gettin' stuck Or you can pray for the light of day Sittin' back hearing all the stories Tongue tied at a loss of what to say 'Cause oh Lord, how you make the sun shine on me, You know I got three squares a day Got a house full of love and a pocket full of dreams I haven't earned in any way So for all the people hurtin in my life, Lord, I will pray for the light of day And that's what I'll do Hey hey You know I'll pray for the light of day Well you can run and hide, or take it all in stride You can sit tongue-tied, no words to say You can throw your hands up Waste time getting stuck, Or you can pray for the light of day
