Lyrics

The Room Upstairs Written by Mark Timblin There’s a room upstairs over my head Once it held such joy now it’s empty instesd I stare up at my ceiling from an over stuffed chair And think about times we loved In the room upstairs If I listen hard I hear her laughter come down I close my eyes and I can feel her around But in the morning I awake and no one is there I had dreamed of us inside The room upstairs I’ve locked the door to what’s there inside Of the room where my heart breaks Just to walk by Since she’s been gone the memories are hard to bare Of the times we loved In the room upstairs I climb the steps for I can take no more Standing in the hall with my hand on the door I look in slowly and see her things everywhere And I know I should have stayed outside The room upstairs I miss the way she loved me so I don’t understand why she had to go There’s too much pain to think of our love back then I say to myself I’ll never come into this room again I had to sell the house and give her things away Without her there I just couldn’t stay Though I won’t forget all the times that we shared I look up and say farewell To the room upstairs
