“Hagins(bass): Our singer Steven was having a touchy time with this song, and it was the last one he wanted to write. The frustration of not being able to make ends meet, no power, no water, and then [to] find your way to an eight million dollar studio. It was a culture shock to him. When we came out, we were all shocked to hear that song because nobody knew what to expect. That’s why we called it “Unexpected.” We had no idea how that song was going to turn out--the last song we recorded.”
