Hip-Hop Lyricist Ex-Cell was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. A young aspiring Hip-Hop artist, Ex-Cell started making music during High School at the age of sixteen. He had never been one to listen to hip-hop music or even enjoy it before then. He was actually introduced to it by a friend, an aspiring rap artist, but didn't want to embark on the journey alone. The two of them started a group called Cliché aiming at reaching the world through an entirely new style of music, using beats with strange cadences and other abnormal sounds to differentiate themselves from the normal hip-hop artists/rappers. They dropped their first collaboration mixtape titled Anti-Social during their junior year in 2009 and shortly after began working on their second project. However, as time moved on their views and artistic creativity on music began to change. Their subject matter, style, and message slowly drifted apart and they began to focus more on their respective solo careers. The group officially broke up during the spring of 2010. During his first year of college at Valparaiso University located in Indiana, Ex-Cell began to focus on developing his own distinctive style of music. By closely studying the art-form and the knowledge gained through his experiences as a freshman in college, he dropped his first solo project titled Yesterday's Remembered during the summer of 2011.Shortly thereafter he began working on his second project titled Once Upon A Rhyme. This album is a mix between remakes of popular songs and also includes original compositions as well. A true masterpiece, the album conveys not only Ex-Cell's skill when it comes to clever rhymes, similes and metaphors but also displays his ability to talk about situations such as relationships, confrontations, and worldly issues in a way that people can relate to all while avoiding the use of profanity. Ex-Cell is truly gifted and well positioned to transform hip-hop music with his innate ability to flow effortlessly, relate to all ethnic groups and age brackets, a true emcee in the making.
