Its single "Don't Won't Problems", became the anthem around Chicago.  J Rocca has also appeared on numerous other rap and R&B singles.  Jay Russell was born in Chicago, Illinois on the notorious westside. Because his parents were separated, custody of him transferred between family members frequently.  In an interview with a local magazine, he described his childhood as "empty".  In 1999, he spent nine months in Chicago Department Of Corrections for narcotics possession and in 2006 spent another four years in Shawnee Department Of Corrections for narcotics distribution.  J Rocca released his first independent DemoTape, Weight Watchers Vol. 1, in 2012 under the label Flight Music Group. It featured artists such as Corleone, and Big Kei with production credits from Tae DaBlock Boi, Mike Murda, and Flight Music Group's in house producer Nico Hellz.
