Mario Valentine, born Mario Vaughan, came into this world on February 14 1993. He is a native of Suffolk, Virginia, a city in the Hampton Roads area of the state. He hopes to follow in the footsteps of the other great musicians from this area of Virginia such as Missy Elliot, Timbaland, and Pharell Williams and Chad Hugo (The Neptunes). His greatest musical influences are Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Mariah Carey. Mario grew up singing and dancing to Michael Jackson songs all around his house. Eventually this made him realize that this is what he wants to do for the rest of his life. He has dreams of being not just a singer, but also a multi-platinum selling artist. He started to pursue his dream in small steps. He went from singing on the school bus to singing in talent shows. By the time he was 15, he started writing and recording his own music. He received many compliments when he was younger but he still wasn’t sure if he could make it in the music business. In 2009, he participated in the F.A.M.E Show, a local talent show for school-aged children. He sang one of the most well received songs he has ever written, “Dance with me”. The crowd loved the songs as well as his performance. People talked about the song long after the talent show was over. This reception and attention made him realize that he was ready to enter the music business and he could do well. Next, he received an offer to join an out-of-state group named Stewie Crew. They later changed the name of the group to Spiffy Entourage. He gained lots of recognition, but things didn’t work out in the group. The next year, he gave the audience the first performance of his next single, “iNever” at the 2010 F.A.M.E show. He was also in the process of forming a music entertainment group called Starstruck Entertainment. This is now a major group with amazing talent! In preparation for his highly anticipated mixtape, “Fame and Fortune”, he released a single called “Friendly Conversation”. This was a major move for him, but he is ready to introduce the world to more of his music. Mario will release his mixtape on October 22, 2010. With the upcoming release of “Fame and Fortune”, he is already working diligently on his next mixtape, “Last Name Valentine”, due to be released February 12, 2011.
