The ministry of Pooh & The Inspirations is one that began over a decade ago when a talented 20-year old organized a musical group with several friends. This young group sang at church events, crusades, festivals and virtually anywhere an invitation was offered; the group was called Pooh & The Young Inspirations. Over the years, the group has evolved, and musical diversity has become the norm for this talented quartet. Pooh & The Inspirations are recognized for their ability to stretch musical boundaries and provide listeners with a broad array of musical styling. Evidence of their creative abilities is evident in their top Billboard Chartings and their Stellar Music Award and Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award Nominations.
In recent years, Pooh & The Inspirations have enjoyed several hit songs, as gospel music lovers nationwide have embraced such soul stirring hits as “Say the Word,” “Get Your Blessing,” and “Doctor Jesus.” Pooh & The Inspirations powerful vocals are supported by bass, electric and acoustic guitar, piano and drums. Pooh & The Inspirations is the brain child of lead singer, Pooh McClary. Pooh is the younger cousin of legendary Motown singer/songwriter, Thomas McClary, co-founder of the Commodores. Pooh started the band and has remained a strong spiritual advisor and the primary songwriter for the group; Pooh also writes for other gospel artist such as Stellar Award Winner, Paul Porter. This talented musical genius has enjoyed much success with sold out performances and high demand for his music. Other members of the group include Jermaine Smith, Eugene Akins, Jonathon Streets, Marlo Kelly and Pastor Andrew Holder.
