Born and raised in the same streets as some of hip hop’s legends like Jay Z and MOP, it is no wonder Rob Fresh grew up to become one of the hottest music artists, producers, and disc jockeys in NYC. Brownsville, Brooklyn gave Fresh his undeniable charisma but his talent was birthed naturally. Even as a young child, Fresh knew he was meant for a life greater than the streets he was being raised in. He used his skills in the game of basketball to propel himself forward and took the first chance he could to hightail his talents to Hollywood, California. It was there where he realized that dreams were truly attainable, seeing every movie star and successful musician up close and personal. He later attended Texas Southern University, which became a pivotal point in Fresh’s career. It was there where he participated in freestyle battles and tapped in to his, then, unknown gift. After having a few opportunities fall through, he decided if he really wanted to be in the music business that NYC was the best place for him. After one year in college, Fresh decided it was time to return home and concentrate on his undeniable love affair with music. Landing a gig at the historic Quad Studios in the heart of NYC, Fresh learned the in’s and out’s of music production from some of the industry’s best engineers. Equipped and ready to prove himself, Roc-A-Fella records gave him the opportunity he needed and hired Fresh as an in-house engineer. He recorded numerous State Property sessions with Kanye West, Beanie Siegel, and the late ODB. Fresh also began to make a name for himself in the nightclub scene as a prominent disc jockey. As with the discovery of his emcee talent, Fresh learned to deejay through inspiration from a friend. His reputation quickly began to proceed him, and Fresh found himself spinning and hosting at top NYC night spots such as Mansion, Pink Elephant and Greenhouse, and then escalated to corporate and sports events like the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii and NY Knicks basketball games. In 2008, it was finally time for Fresh to step out from behind the shadows of promoting others, and to start making his own name musically. He debuted his first mixtape entitled, “Fresh Presents – The Real World Season 1″ on New Years Day 2009, which garnered large amounts of attention and a fan base. Over 5,000 copies of the mixtape were obtained, and top publications featured Fresh as the must-know new artist. Then, in July 2010, on the heel of new found success, “Fresh Presents – The Real World Season 2” was released. After this second mixtape, Fresh began performing at shows, including completing a two week tour in Sweden. He took center stage and proved he was here to stay! Fresh has left his fans with a lot to anticipate after ending his performances in early 2011; and recently performing at SxSW and headlining at Google Headquarters in NYC. Rob Fresh is ready to release his newest music in the second quarter of 2012. With an self titled EP “Rob Fresh: Who I Am”, filled with tracks from top producers and collaborations with other popular music artists, Fresh’s fans will know it was worth the wait for his new music!
