TALIBAN ZAH was born on the North-side of Jamaica, Queenz. Where as a youngster his dreams and aspirations were not to become the next illest rapper, but instead he dreamt of becoming a juvenile counselor. Although living in the boro with the world’s best rappers such as Nas, LL Cool J,RUN DMC, Roxanne Shante, just to name a few, the thought of rapping was far from the mind of this juvenile delinquent. Who later found himself caught in the perils of the street-life where at the young impressionable age of 11, his mother gave him up to the courts. Now a product of the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS), he was sent to Non-secure Detention (NSD), such as Beach House located in the Bronx, NY, where he AWOL, later captured, and then sent to PIUS XII upstate NY. It was here that the development of crime began. Back on the mean streets of Queenz, at the age of 13 is where the life of crime progressed. With charges ranging from petty larceny, burglary, weapon possession, various assault charges he was all too familiar with Trion, Crossroads, Spofffard, and Uptown CorrectionalFacility. TALIBAN began to be immune to such a lifestyle that it became a norm. Later at the age of 16, where he caught his first serious charge of attempted murder. Due to a cop-out plea of 5 years with a Y.O. status,he surrounded himself with the old timers, where he came to grips with himself, and no longer wanted to lead a life behind bars. While inside he was writing, going back and forth to the yard, in and out of rap ciphers. This is where others expressed he could make it in the rap business. Yet still rap was not an avenue he wanted to pursue. After coming home back to the North-side Jamacia, Queenz he was looking for a change in environment. After hooking up with his cousin Geoff Exquisite, who lives in Baltimore, MD, and was pursuing his rap career, Taliban decided it was best to move to MD to start over. Staying up late listening to his cousin make beats, hearing different artists recording at the house, gave Taliban a push to want do his first song to see how it would turn out. That one song later turned into a mixtape titled from “The Bing to the Booth” Vol I, which feedback was so transcendent it was then he decided to become a more serious rapper. However, just as he thought he left his troubled past in NY, he found himself facing new charges such as gun possession, possession of drugs, and intent to sell. No matter what obstacles are thrown his way, Taliban is determined to keep pursuing his rap career and sharing his experiences through rap. What makes this new artist stand apart from other rappers is that his lyrics tell the story of his day-to-day adversities in the streets.
