Young Prince Charles The Youngest in Charge In today’s music industry there is no lack of entertainers. What is becoming extinct, however, is the artist...the innately creative entity that finds its way to the mainstream surface with a product that has some real depth and life to it. Thankfully, every few years that entity emerges and brings with him a fresh and organic take on everyday life that has the rest of us exhilarated by the possibilities. This time, that artist is Young Prince Charles. The sentiment indicates that age is just a number or you’re only as old as you feel. He’s ten...in human years. Born Charles Jones, III in Richmond, Virginia in June of 2001, the young talent possesses a style and personality that has caught the attention of the right people at the right time. Young Prince Charles is holding his own among the new class of superstars and is becoming a tastemaker himself. As a seasoned stage performer with coming-of-age hits like “Check Yes or No”, an ode to a starry-eyed young girl, he has opened concerts for uber-successful teen acts like Young Tyga, Lil Twist, Soulja Boy, Mindless Behavior and hip-hop’s royal son, Diggy Simmons. They are the voice of Generation Z and they’re setting trends and influencing their peers by their music, fashion and way of life. Young Prince Charles fits right in...literally. Always thinking, creating and living outside the box. Young Prince Charles wowed that audience as the headliner at the UniverSoul Circus in March 2012. A month later, he performed at the Southeast Urban Music Conference in Charlottesville, Virginia-- captivating the crowd with his skills and always-present charisma. To add fuel to path he’s trailblazing for himself, Young Prince Charles is signed to the hottest up-and-coming music label, BYC Entertainment/Mylifemedia. The burgeoning young talent is their premier artist being developed by veteran promoter, Charles Jones, who was instrumental in inking the group’s joint venture with XRECORDS/Malaco. But it wasn’t just the industry that recognized the raw talent in Young Prince Charles at an early age. By the time he was five, it was clear to his parents that he was destined for a career in entertainment. His unyielding energy and constant singing, dancing and imitation of his favorite artists and actors made everyone take notice of his gift. He was truly different and needed an outlet. Young Prince Charles had a particular affinity for Michael Jackson, Usher, Jay-Z, Will Smith, Justin Bieber, Tupac and Kid & Play. If there were any stars to align him with, aspire to and shoot for, this class of global mega-stars and business savvy gents was it. His inherent love for music is hardly far-fetched. Young Prince Charles grew up around music. His dad, Charles Jones, was working in promotions at BYC Entertainment, so naturally the passion was sure to be passed down. The early grooming of Young Prince Charles began as a collaborative effort. Quinton Hunt, the VP of A&R at BYC Entertainment wrote lyrics for Young Prince Charles from 2007-2011, while dad Charles handled the music. In 2011, the young star began writing his own lyrics--focusing on his feelings, situations that he and his friends had encountered and conveying what was going on around him. “He has always had something important to say...whether it was through song, his school work, or dance...my son has always had a message to share with the world.” This fresh and insightful perspective served as a pivotal point in the career and life journey of Young Prince Charles. He has truly found his voice. The “voice” of Young Prince Charles is transcending the studio, records, stages and videos. The young industrialist-in-training is carving his own unique path by speaking to people through example. His dedication to school and his community is astounding and what he’s achieved in the classroom far exceeds any platinum records he’s on track to selling in the very near future. Young Prince Charles is dominating the academic charts and setting the bar for excellence among all students. The general sentiment among school administrators, parents and students is that, “Young Prince Charles is unequivocally the positive voice of the new generation...he’s changing minds which affects behavior and ultimately impacts lives.” This is a kid who impeccably balances the academic stage and the artistic stage—and performs at optimal levels in both venues. Young Prince Charles was a headliner of the SOL School Tour, which serves the Richmond, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Prince George and Hopewell, Virginia communities by encouraging and motivating elementary, middle, and high school students to study hard for the SOL test, which must be passed to be promoted to the next grade. He was a natural selection for the tour because he’s a model student –president of his school, an honor roll regular, takes advanced classes and participates in SPACE, a program for gifted children. Even the Richmond police department relies on him to perform for National Night Out, where he participates in visiting different neighborhoods and communities and engage the residents in fun activities and uplifting performances. He even performs at school functions and birthday parties. Like the notables Young Prince Charles has come to admire, he too is using his celebrity as a platform for the greater good. He is a dedicated advocate for the movement against bullying, and even wrote a tribute to President Obama called “Lots of Presidents” to encourage respect for the man whom so many have disrespected. He is fearless and makes it his business to right wrongs and speak up about issues that are affecting kids and families everywhere. Constantly evolving, Young Prince Charles embeds himself in yet another creative genre where his voice can be heard. In the provocative film Troop 491: The Adventures of the Muddy Lions, executive produced by the iconic Tim Reid, Young Prince Charles proves that he can hold his own in any setting by performing the title song on the soundtrack called “Troop 491”, and starring in the film. At such a young age, Young Prince Charles already has the concepts of branding and marketing down to a tee. He’s exceptionally bright and astutely aware of what it takes to engage people and provide them with an unforgettable experience each time they encounter this budding superhero. As the architect behind his brand, he styles himself for performances- -including everything from his haircut to his jeans and sunglasses. Along with his seventeen year-old sister Charlise, they collaborate on choreography and when he’s on the road for big performances, she is one of his five dancers known as Da RockStarz. The world is his playground...or stage for that matter and Young Prince Charles is taking it by storm. If the children are our future, then Young Prince Charles is their ambassador.
