Abbey contacts Cocoanut Lady’s advice show to ask her advice on what to do if her fiance catches her cheating. Abbey began performing in 1994 along with a local Deejay named Sli (Sellaci) of Sli Productions. Often emulating artists such as Shelly Thunder, Patra, Sister Carol, Salt And Pepa and Queen Latifah, the US Virgin Island-born Abbey's commanding voice caught the ear of local Producer Seko Varner of the Virginia-based Seko Sound System. She joined the group in 1995 and began doing shows and mixed tapes. In 1998 Seko Sound System released Abbey's first single the Hip Hop-Salsa-Calypso flavored 'No Jestering' to great reviews!
