A Day Overdue

On August 3rd 2009, A Day Overdue released their second E.P "Heroes And Villains". Four tracks of sheer quality, with all of the signature sounds you would expect from the band plus some new tweaks, it sees the band grow into themselves and come of age. Opening track "Love(Sic)" sets the tone with three minutes of flawless pop-punk mixed with the slightly heavier elements that give the band their edge. Opening track "Love(Sic)" sets the tone with three minutes of flawless pop-punk mixed with the slightly heavier elements that give the band their edge. The flirtatious "A Work Of Heart" mixes electronic sounds with raw yet refined guitar lines to create a truly memorable tune before "Your Star", a true power ballad for the 21st century combining classic rock and modern elements, brings the record towards it's climax. Closing track "Scream!" combines everything the band stands for to elevate them to a new level of songwriting. With guitars which wouldn't sound out of place on a Funeral For A Friend single, and aggressive yet melodic vocals, the track is clearly a sign of things to come from this ambitious quintet. On this form, 2010 could well be a breakout year for A Day Overdue, with their debut full length due in Spring ahead of a UK tour. Get on board.
