Aaron Dessau aka A Dot is a 25 year old singer\songwriter from West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, PA (Also known as “Uptown” to its residence). After years of honing his talents and performing with Freedom Theater, he decided to become a singer\songwriter like his aunt Alicia Dessau , vocalist for Natural Selection. Thanks to his talent for writing catchy, radio-friendly songs that connect with audiences with the very first listen, his songs have been receiving a lot of accolades within the Philadelphia music community. A songwriter from the heart, Aaron has a flair for writing catchy songs that leave the listener feeling the raw emotion in them. Although as an artist he is young, he draws inspiration from many different lyrical and musical influences (Isley Brothers, Donnie Hathaway, Stevie Wonder). “My style is for the people...I can write a ballad for the new couple in love today, and the next a upbeat party track for the fellas in the club, but I am still trying to grow and evolve as a writer....”. It is that versatility that has created his buzz and has people waiting for more. Music is not something new to Aaron however: after years of performing in talent shows as well as with freedom theater, Aaron felt like it was time to finally do his own thing: “I grew up in a musical family. My aunt Alicia sings with the group Natural Selection. She always encouraged me to develop my craft as a singer and songwriter”, he says proudly. But it wasn't until he attended West Chester University did he get his chance. Thru mutual friends and a mutual love of music, Aaron hooked up with music producer\singer\songwriter Donnell Shawn and they put together the majority of what is known now as the Before the Talk....The Mixtape. “At West Chester, Donnell and I just got together and did our thing. He is a great producer and we respected each others abilities. We just clicked like that. And we made some great music.” Also while at West Chester, Aaron would be introduced to producer Documentalz and manager Carlos Davenport aka Los Infinite thru his aunt. This new team of individuals would then begin Aaron's journey in creating his debut project. Now back at his birthplace Philadelphia, Aaron is putting the finishing touches on his debut project as well as working on new material with fellow Philly artists, Verso, Nicklez and Hollowman. Now after years of hard work, his debut album will finally see the light of day through an Independent Label, SP Entertainment Music Group. Based on the reception of his latest singles “The Let Out” and “Turn the Beat Up”, Aaron will finally become the talk of “Uptown” and also the talk of the urban music scene....
