With Radiohead, Muse, Keane, Jimmy Eat World, Sublime and Chris Isaac influences, native born Texan, Alan Jacob unleashes his talent on San Francisco and the surrounding area’s music circuit. As an aspiring songwriter since the age of eighteen Alan displays his solo performances with commanding confidence and audible conviction. At the age twenty Alan set his sights on acoustic performances until a local band of Houston picked him up as their lead singer. His high energy performance, and love for the stage kept a busy calendar for the band for years working the local, and state wide music circuit. His desire and passion for his own music grew while, in his own words, “The covers just lost there luster”. Performing songs that didn’t originate inside him became less exciting with the pursuit of recording his own album. As well as an impassioned vocalist/ writer/guitar player/performer, Alan also doubles as a bassist. Playing for such bands as -Goodnight City- of Nashville, now known as -Flightcase for Sushi-, -Rock Fever Remedy- and -Byron Brown & the Derelicts- of Maui HI. Alan has stated “I love the bass, it’s my favorite instrument to play, especially when you have a solid drummer who lives in the pocket ”. Alan spent the last two years in Hawaii, where he performed acoustically at the Four Seasons resort on the island of Lanai, as well as playing bass for a local Lanai Hawaiian bands when needed. On Maui, Alan played solo at many diverse venues, including Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, The Oyster Bar, Charlie’s, The Cellar and many more. While on Maui Alan formed a band with three good friends and fellow musicians called -Rock Fever Remedy. RFR, was a 3 piece band that formed in late February of 09. Alan played bass and sang back-ups as well as played the guitar, singing all of his original work. Using their earnings from a few regular shows, Rock Fever Remedy soon started touring the islands of Hawaii, from the Maui, the Big Island to Oahu once a month. Now new to the Bay Area, Alan Jacob has been spending his time here writing and recording his new music. His continued research on the music industry for the future goal to own his own label, and careful decisions will prove a well adjusted consultant, musician, producer, songwriter and performer.
