A graduate of Juilliard, Alexa, Composer/Pianist/Singer/Songwriter and Producer is productive in both the classical, jazz and pop worlds. Born in New York city, Alexa was raised in Urbana, Il. where both her parents were Professors at the University of Illinois. Her father, a mathematician, writer and artist is Persian/Armenian and her mother, a writer for the Huff-post & former TV and Radio broadcaster is Austro-Hungarian. She benefited form a nurturing and stimulating home environment full of books, art and music. "From my earliest memories, I was making music with my brother and sister, composing at the piano and singing, before I could read or write."
Alexa returned to NY to study and currently lives there, performing and recording regularly. She is a prolific writer, amassing over 300 songs ranging in genres.

Upon hearing her perform an original song at Ashford and Simpson's Sugarbar,
Alexa was invited by Roberta Flack to sing a duet of "Killing me Softly" with her at the Blue Note.
She was hired to sing backups for Sting and Chris Botti. Alexa has had several songs and performances featured in Films. Encouraged by Carly Simon, she has been producing and arranging her music, taking a complete approach to realizing her songs from start to finish.
A product of several cultures herself, she sings in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian & Arabic. "I love words and the sound of different languages, especially when sung- the sensuality of the words sometimes allows one to express themselves in unexpected ways, vocally and poetically unique to that specific language".
She recently returned from a week long recording session in Granada, Spain with
some Flamenco musicians she performs with there.
"Six songs in six days, not bad!!" says Alexa. She plans on touring Spain with them this coming July and August.
