Alex Lawhon is a songwriter and lead singer of the matchless rock outfit “Colourslide” (his words). Alex Lawhon is a songwriter and lead singer of the matchless rock outfit “Colourslide” (his words). He’s toured with Maroon 5 on their way to superstardom and played shows with the likes of Gavin Degraw, John Mayer, Train, Michelle Branch and Natasha Bedingfield to name(drop) a few. Alex had the privilege to be rewarded with the John Lennon Songwriting Contest’s Maxell Song of the Year award in 2007 while Colourslide was named by Gretsch guitars as the best unsigned band in the country in 2008. Alex’s songs have also earned many national television spots on ESPN, MTV, E!, OXYGEN and The CW. Currently Alex and the band are promoting their anticipated second record which was mixed by the legendary Jack Joseph Puig at Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood, CA. When not with the band Alex performs solo acoustic shows, mixing originals with his favorite songs by others.
