Alex McDonald is a singer/songwriter located on the seacoast of New Hampshire. His roots date back to the 70's through the lengthly road trip that wouldn't end till the early 90's. Where he has been is where his music will take you. Through melodic overtunes comes a listful edge that brings a certain familiarity. Alex McDonald's stage career started early as a child performing in numerous theatrical plays and musicals. From elementary to high school productions he tuned in his vocal abilities. Soon after a couple of cross country walkabouts he self taught himself guitar and piano and began writing his own music. The final product would be honed in deep in the woods of Southwestern NH with bands like Poorman's Stew, Epoch and Jard. Alex McDonald introduced himself to the seacoast music scene in 2006 with his debut home recorded album, Amalgamate. The singer/songwriter's latest album, An Evening with Frank(produced for the RPM 09 Challenge), mixes Alex McDonald's art-house melodies with modish instrumentation to create a bevy of chart-topping rave-ups. With standout tracks like "KB," look for Alex McDonald to be a major presence in the singer/songwriting landscape for years to come.
