Made in Tel Aviv, Israel. we are seven talented musicians making Hebrew Samba music, while using authentic Brazilian instruments (made in Brazil) and preserving the rich rhythms and grooves of the Brazilian music. we combine many different rhythmic styles in our music from all over Brazil, such as Samba Carioca, Forro, Choro, Afoxe, Samba Enredo, Favela-funk and Frevo. most of us travelled Brazil for a long period of time and studied the style efficiently and decided that Israel deserves a real Samba band with all original music in Hebrew that could connect easily to the Israeli crowed. the band sound is fresh and original, mainly because of the use of the authentic instruments and the Brazilian groove. the group has no Bass guitar and the part of the bass is divided between the classic 7-string guitar (with an extra bass sting) and the big bass drums (Tanta and Surdo). there are many types of percussion drums- the Pandeiro (a hand drum with cymbals), the Caixa (like a sneir with strings on the front) and many more. also there is the Cavaquinho which is a small guitar with only 4 strings that is played in a very rhythmic way like a drum, which gives the upper harmony parts. also the whole band sings in a choir together in the background to backup the main singer. and finally is the Trombone to give the last color with parts and improvisations. you may hear some more tunes and see some videos in our site: www.almacalma.com the band members are: 1- Michal Lotan- Vocals. 2- Yoav Ronat- 7string classic guitar. 3- Oded Aloni- Cavaquinho, Pandeiro. 4- Alon Celnik- Pandeiro. 5- Alon Ram- Caixa, Accordeon. 6- Yarl Rosenblat- Tanta, Surdo. 7- Ron Silberstein- Trombone. for more details please contact me: yoav_ronat@yahoo.com Thank you very much!
