Just like Southern California weather, Alori Joh’s music is simply beautiful. It never gets too cold, and the sound of her voice is always so chill. Raised in Carson, California, not far from where West Coast’s most prominent hip-hop artists have come from, Alori Joh brings an eclectic sound to the game. Her sexy lyrics reveal emotions only she can eloquently write. Take Batteries for instance, a song that expresses her dyer need to release some tension, only to find out her vibrator is out of batteries. She calls her boyfriend hoping he will satisfy her needs, but he feels used and teases her with tough love. The promiscuous record even got the attention of well-known entertainment lawyer Robert Celestin all the way in New York! Some say, Alori’s music reminds them of Janet Jackson, Beyonce and Teedra Moses which happen to be artists who have inspired the 24-year-old’s music career. Raised by her mom and two grandparents in the suburbs, Alori is grounded in her family’s morals and free spirited lifestyle. When Alori was three years old, her mom watched her willingly perform in front of houseguests, family and friends. She would play dress up, sneak in her mom’s high heels and give mini concerts. Alori’s dream to become an entertainer continued to flourish throughout high school where she coordinated dance groups and step teams for the Black Student Union and Leadership Committee. Upon graduating from California State University, Long Beach, Alori became indie label Top Dawg Entertainment’s go-to girl for hooks. She continues to professionally record for the label’s buzz-worthy hip-hop artists and can be heard on their mixtapes. In November, 2010, Alori debuted her self-written street album The Love Religion produced by D-Tonez. Her singles Happy Medium and Coastin’ garnered wide exposure online by popular Web site’s like XXLmag.com, 2Dopeboyz.com, Singersroom.com and Soulbounce.com. Soulbounce writers raved Alori’s tracks “evoke images of sea breezes, sandy toes and midday daydreams while staring at the clouds.” Along with Love Notes Publicity (Alori’s artist-discovery team), its mission is to tell the world about her craft by dominating the viral entertainment world.
