Ashton started singing like many others at a very young age discovering his unique vocal abilities at the age of 10. By age 12 Ashton started writing his own songs that were unique to his vocal abilities. But it wasn’t until his teenage years in High School where Ashton learned the possibilities of a career in music. While performing at a HS talent show singing and dancing on stage,Ashton was given a rush he never felt before and the response from his peers and teachers confirmed just what he was feeling. That Ashton Martin could become a star. Since then Ashton set his goals high and has been working diligently towards making his dream a reality. His musical influences include Prince and the late legendary greats Michael Jackson, James Brown, & Rick James just to name a few. Ashtons sound is eclectic meshing a bunch of different sounds into what is often referred to as “Ashton Martin Music”. A fusion of R&B, Pop, Funk, Rock, & Hip-Hop makes Ashton a rare artist in this business because his music reaches people of all cultures across the world. Because of Ashton’s unique style of writing he is able to write for all genres of music honing the art of songwriting and on his way to become not only the next great artist but songwriter as well. Currently Ashton is working on his debut project expected to release in mid 2011, with the first single release in early 2011. You can find Ashton’s voice on some of the hottest underground Hip-Hop artist’s songs such as Shotgun Chellz, Yung Brooklyn, Mursinary Productions, and J Fleez. Ashton is an active member/songwriter for the Critical Sounds Productions Writing group. You can find Ashton performing at any open mic around the NYC area, and monthly at Ashford & Simpsons Sugar Bar as one of the main acts for the Soul of the City Concert Series. When Ashton is not the center of attention he can be found signing background for artists such as the Fo Yo Soul Band, ShaLea Ryter,Elasea Douglas, and the Paul Robeson HS Choir as a special guest.
