American SweetHart exploded onto the music scene in the spring of 2006. The group’s aggressive drum beats and melodic riffs were unlike anything that the local scene had ever heard before. American SweetHart exploded onto the music scene in the spring of 2006. The group’s aggressive drum beats and melodic riffs were unlike anything that the local scene had ever heard before. The four high school friends from Belmont, North Carolina describes their genre to be hard rock with a “baby’s bottom.” Over the course of their career, American SweetHart has performed at many well-known venues across the Carolinas such as Amos’ Southend, Charlotte and Green Street Club, Greensboro. “A great upcoming band”, J&T Productions. This “tell-all” bio is meant to gain exposure in the eyes of venues and record labels alike. American SweetHart is currently performing in the Charlotte and Hickory areas. These appearances are to promote their self-titled EP, released in 2010. The upcoming MPA Live Festival at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte, NC, will feature American SweetHart performing songs off their EP and unreleased material. Jack Wall, Matt Sharpe, and Dustin Barker met and formed a band with a fellow classmate in 2004. The band dispersed after a year, claiming “creative differences”. Following the breakup, Matt and Dustin aspired to form a new band, but were in need of a singer and bassist. After discussions with their former singer, Jack Wall decided to join the project. Guitarist, Matt Sharpe recruited, long time friend and bassist, Will Gulledge to come on board; and with Dustin Barker behind the kit, American SweetHart was born. American SweetHart has had many influences over the years which include Queen, Breaking Benjamin, The Eagles, and Metallica. Although they had many mentors, the band’s development is greatly credited to Quart-A-Shine, local band, and friends they looked up to and performed with often. In 2009, American SweetHart won the J&T Productions Battle of the Bands, and were also aired in Charlotte on 106.5 The End. Performing with Ages Apart and Under The Flood, in 2010 was a highlight of their career. American SweetHart’s media is available at live performances, and on the bands Facebook and Myspace page. The band frequently updates and post new show dates on their pages, so be sure to check them out often. American SweetHart hopes to be recognized in the music industry as a new, up coming band with the potential to take their music career to the next level.
