About Amy Gass

AMY GASS

Country music singer/songwriter Amy Gass was born and raised in Mountain View, CA. With her rich and youthful tone in her soprano voice, Amy is an artist who captivates an audience with power and enthusiasm in her stage presence. Using life’s experiences and her talent for creative writing, Amy has turned hurt and happiness into unforgettable songs. Her current cd reflects her talent both as a singer and as a songwriter.

Amy began singing at an early age and by age 12 she realized what she wanted to be. Her dream to become a successful Country music singer motivated her to practice meticulously, day and night, with karaoke tracks and a small cd player. Her influences include Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain, Amy Grant, Madonna, and Faith Hill. She listened and studied their vocal techniques and soon found her own unique style.

The desire to pursue a career in the music industry led Amy to make several trips to Music City, where she began co-writing and recording. With each trip Amy improved and strengthened her talents. Artist Development Network president, Cathy Lemmon says, “Amy Gass has a sweet, natural voice that is believable and unique. She does not have to “over” sing to get the message across. You can feel what she’s singing about. She’s also a very talented song writer, which makes her a well rounded artist”

Miss Gass is an award-winning singer who has won many medals and trophies in various competitions including the “World Championships For performing Arts” in Burbank, CA, the “Youth Focus Talent Competition” in San Jose, and the “San Jose Idol”. She was also a semi-finalist in many of the “Colgate Country Showdown” and vocal contests sponsored by the local San Francisco Bay area radio station KRTY.

Amy studied voice with Ed Blackwell, Jr., of the “Music Place” in San Jose, and she continues to take voice lessons to stay fit vocally. She sang the National Anthem at many professional games, including the Harlem Globe Trotters, The San Jose Stealth Lacrosse Team, The San Jose Sharks, the Salinas Valley Packers, and the San Francisco Giants, where a frenzied cheer broke out from the 40,000 in attendance! She’s also been a featured singer on San Jose’s radio station KRTY.

Her latest cd album shows off Amy’s talent as an exceptional song writer. Eight out of the ten songs were co-written by Amy, and you will enjoy her style and sound in these heart felt songs. You can almost taste the intensity of “Never Knew”, and hear the determination of will in the song, “Strong”. Manuel De Haro, producer and owner of Acceso Productions says, “I’ve been working with lots of great independent artists in the past 10 years, and I have to say Amy’s voice and talent is one of the most unique I have heard, and her passion and dedication for music are always inspiring. I am always blown away by her impressive voice”

A favorite on her myspace page is the rockin’ “When Good Girls Love bad Boys”. Then the adolescent pureness of the song, “My Best Friend” takes you back to childhood and dreaming that anything is possible. The crown jewel of the album is the heart wrenching duet, “When We’re Cheating On Each Other”. Reminds you of George Jones and Tammy Wynette.

Amy Gass is a serious artist, willing to work hard to make her dreams a reality. Says Amy, “Every moment, good or bad, is another opportunity to reach out and connect with the audience. I feel like I am just getting started, and I’m so excited about the future!”
