The band "Amy's Lair" was born in March 2007 and is currently composed of Emanuela Costa (vocals), Francesco Medas (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Andrea Desogus (drums), Fabio Borghero (bass). The band "Amy's Lair" was born in March 2007 and is currently composed of Emanuela Costa (vocals), Francesco Medas (guitars, keyboards, vocals), Andrea Desogus (drums), Fabio Borghero (bass). Francesco was born in Cagliari on 29 July 1984. He is a guitar player of exceptional talent, composer of music and author of lyrics, but also keyboards player and singer. He grew up listening to Pink Floyd, Genesis, Extreme, Toto and his favourite band, the U2. He started playing guitar from self-taught at the age of 14 years and in 2000 he created his first group, the "Holy Dunx", a cover band of U2, and began to compose his first songs. The compositions were initially simple, but he soon started to compose more complex pieces: the time of the Holy Dunx ended and in 2003 Francesco created a new band, the "Feature", his music was inspired by great guitar players like Steve Vai, Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt and Petrucci. In 2005 a singer, Emanuela Costa, joined the Feature. Emanuela was born in Cagliari on 18 July 1984. She is a singer and an author of lyrics. She began to take her first simple singing lessons at the age of 10 years. At the age of 14 years she stopped lessons, but her passion for singing brought her to experiment from self-taught different types of music, from Elisa's and Irene Grandi's pop-rock, to Alanis Morrissette, Dido and many more. She resumed to study singing when she was 19 and Coldplay's musical influence became very important. The "Feature" took part in SanremoLab 2005 with the song "Sfida" (music by Francesco Medas, lyrics by Lorella Costa), qualifying for the semifinals of the selection. In 2006 the Feat broke up and the drummer Andrea Desogus met Francesco and Emanuela. Andrea was born in Cagliari on 30 March 1983. He began playing drums in 1996, just for fun. By the time, his passion grew and Andrea decided to study drums seriously. He attended lessons for approximately ten years at the “Peter's Day” school, with Giuseppe Melis (Isola Song) and Daniele Russo (Balentes). Now this experience is finished, but he continues studying from self-taught and trying always new grooves. His favourite kind of music is rock, but also funky from the '70/'80’s and pop, for example Toto and Queen; his favourite drummers are Roger Taylor, John Bonham, Nick Mason, Jeff Porcaro. Andrea supported in several bands, the last was Phobi@ live band. At the beginnig of 2007 a good musical complicity between Francesco, Emanuela and Andrea was born, and Amy's Lair plan started with the publication of a cd featuring three unrealased tracks published with the book of comics “Bollicine” edited by Taphros. In 2008 the bass player Fabio Borghero joined the Amy's Lair. Fabio was born in Carbonia on 1 September 1977, he began to study music from the age of 6 years with the teacher Massessi. The passion for rock led him to play guitar, but soon he felt that he was more attracted by another instrument, the bass. He started to play bass from self-taught and after some years he began to attend lessons with the teacher Bellia, then he improved his technique with Massimiliano Atzeni and Gianni Serino. In 1998 he started to play with the "Headon's", a prog rock band, but after some live shows this band broke up and Fabio played with several bands until August 2008, when he finally joined the Amy's Lair. The music of Amy's Lair keeps tones of progressive rock, but it is stretched to be more melodic because of the voice of Emanuela and it's rich of many different musical influences, like funky, pop, etc. The Amy's Lair are recording their first demo.
