Ancora is the brainchild of lead guitarist, Johnny Stale given life and insanity by the rest of the band - John Cruz (vocalist), joey suarez(drummer), and EVP (bassist and vocals).   Named after the legendary South Jersey psychiatric institution, Ancora brings to the music scene a new level of creative chaos, rubber room head banging, straightjacket defying heavy metal music.    The voices in their head have shown no mercy, Ancora's music is completely original - no placebos...

Ancora is the brainchild of lead guitarist, Johnny Stale given life and insanity by the rest of the band - John Cruz (vocalist), joey suarez(drummer), and EVP (bassist and vocals).   Named after the legendary South Jersey psychiatric institution, Ancora brings to the music scene a new level of creative chaos, rubber room head banging, straightjacket defying heavy metal music.    The voices in their head have shown no mercy, Ancora's music is completely original - no placebos or covers!   John Cruz, front man and lead vocalist has given insanity a voice that screams and a new energy that keeps both the sane and insane on edge.    One of John Cruz' personalities speaks that he is a formally trained opera singer - a second personality speaks of MMA training and being third.   Delusional? Mr. Cruz is new to the music scene.   Recently released from places unknown, we question his sanity and thrive on the insanity. Johnny Stale, lead guitarist, brings to the rubber room his best friend - a seven string named  - "The Queen" where his fingers fly through the recesses of his brain unharmed by past therapy.    "The Beast" breathes life into the pure insanity we call Ancora.   Mr. Stale's prior commitments included time served with Organizm and Crystal Sin. EVP, the resident, brings the look of crazy a new edge on his five string bass.    Closest to the baseline of normal, EVP brings a unique perspective to Ancora - intellect. Voluntarily committed to multiple facilities at once, EVP signed himself out AMA. Joey suarez, the newest in-patient with Ancora,  makes normal  beats look boring and conventional in a mind where nothing is what it seems.   The level of pure crazy is intensified by the constant movement of the sharpest instruments he is allowed to hold.
