Being on the constant brink of homelessness never slowed Andrea President from her passionate pursuit of music. In fact, that struggle was instrumental in her musical growth, as well as her personal healing.
Possessing endless drive, devotion, and patience, singer/songwriter, Andrea taught herself how to play the acoustic guitar and shortly began performing on stage at her church. Besides influences from church, she also explores the eclectic mix of rhythm and blues, country, jazz, classic rock, and tribal music to craft her own unique sound. Her first major performance was for the Stars on Staff Celebrity Waiter Luncheon, which was sponsored by the San Francisco based organization, Music In Schools Today.
Shortly thereafter Andrea found herself at the doors of Youth Movement Records (YMR), a youth-run record label and youth development program. There she formalized her relationship with Recording Academy members, Larry Batiste and Claytoven Richardson, and is currently working on completing songs for her upcoming CD, “A Secret Place”.
Andrea President hopes her journey will serve as an example to teach others to follow their dreams, no matter how great the obstacles.
