Archaic Averno do make use of different “gears”. An astonishing sense for catchy and melodic songs is a trademark of Archaic Averno's music. Twin guitar melodies, unexpected breaks and technical hooks, however, do not serve as a cover up for lack of inspiration, but are used as a tool to make songs more interesting and stronger. History August 2007 marks the birth of a new band. Archaic Averno might be a relative new name in the world of metal, most of the band members themselves have been around for a long time in the scene. With (ex)members from Iscariot, Inquisition, Graven Image, Victimizer, Goden and Fuelblooded; who shared stages with The Defaced, Darkane, Arch Enemy, The Haunted, Destruction and Entombed, this band brings experience from an unknown value to the existing metal scene. Performance Having Archaic Averno live on your stage means a real professional show. That means, head banging guitarists with flashing solo's, a real frontman who claims the stage and interacts with the audience... An outstanding drummer who keeps the rhythm tight together and a steady, beautiful female bass-guitarist, a lust for the eye !! This band also stands for a guaranteed monster sound, by using their own sound engineer. Archaic Averno is definitely a must to see, for all melodic death-/thrash fans. Starting their show with a short but interesting intro followed by the full speed thrash assault “Legend Of The Earth” via the melodic mid-tempo crushers “Shattered Dreams” and “On The Edge Of Insanity (The Poison Feeling), to the catchy death 'n roll track “Monster In The Mirror” the whole range of sounds is displayed in Archaic Averno's performance. Strategically placed in the middle of the set a relative short track of swedisch old school death-metal containing a technical part complete “Schuldiner style” (Death, R.I.P.) which serves as a perfect interlude to the unexpected cover; taken from the motion picture Rocky III named “Eye Of The Tiger” (by Survivor) and the rest of the set-list. The last few tracks of the set-list contain the death-/thrash sing a long track “For Your Weakness” which contains remarkable turns and twists and the swinging bay-area thrasher “Imperfection”. Depending on playing a support or head-lining show, Archaic Averno will play another two extra tracks. The classic “Alison Hell” from Canadian thrash legend Annihilator and their latest up-tempo melodic finale “Angelchild”. Prepare yourself for one hell of a monster ride !!!
