A-Roc & A Hard Place is a So Cal based Hip Hop group composed of several musicians taken from various genres of music. A-Roc is on the vocals, Justin is on the guitar, Nick on the drums, Andrew is on the Bass, Deezy on the Keys, & DJ Merge. Together they have fused a Hip Hop style, the raw energy of rock and a funky vibe to create something new to bring to the table for the local scene. All from different walks of life and decided to combine their musical talents to create an unique sound all there own, combining all those different elements. They have begun playing local shows in Southern California and will be expanding quickly. A-Roc is an up and coming Hip-Hop artist based out of the Inland Empire located in Southern California. He is making a name for himself by bringing the new sound of Hip-Hop. Current state of Hip-Hop doesn’t promote lyricist but just a hot hook. A-Roc is looking to bring both back to the game. He and his close nit friends have been in the lab producing music to show the world. “I want to bring good music to the forefront and show that there is still hope to resurrect Hip-Hop back to its former self.” A-Roc states. With only a few years under his belt as far as rapping, A-Roc has been doing shows and tearing the house down like he was a seasoned vet. Incorporating infectious beats and high energy in his routine the crowd can’t help but get into the show. A-Roc says he loves to perform and give the crowd and awesome show. 2008 marked the year that it all began, with A-Roc dropping his 1st mixtape and in 2010 and now in 2011 he is working on his album tentatively called “From the Ground Up” this year with his band "A Hard Place". He has been working hard on it with his team of producers of The U. He’s looking to make his mark anyway that he can. He is full of drive, determination and passion. A-Roc states, “With my influences being Jay-Z, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, & N.E.R.D. to name a few, there is no way that I can fail. I try mold myself from these successful people, but put my own spin on things.” Justin & Nick started out a few years ago as a vague concept, which quickly turned into an active project. Justin and Nick began writing and recording songs intended to be played by a full live band with only two people. Even with only the original two members and no vocalist, they managed to rack up a few credits. They are to be featured in an upcoming International reality TV show series called "Livin Loud" which will be aired in the near future. New Omega Wrestling chose to use "The Harlequin" as their official theme song played at every event, as well as other songs which are featured in their DVD's. Justin & Nick has also collaborated with Inland Empire's most up and coming Hip Hop artist, A-Roc to form the first part of "A Hard Place". Andrew also was in a few bands before joining up with "A Hard Place". Andrew is seriously good bass player that groove and slap with the best of them. Deezy & Merge are part of The U, which produces a lot of different types of music, including some of the A-Roc & A Hard Place tunes. They started doing Hip-Hop & R&B, but have started working on pop and rock to add their arsenal. After seeing what A-Roc was trying to do with the live band aspect the two producers hopped on board to help things get started by adding some sweet sound with the keyboard and easing the transitions between beats as the DJ. A-Roc & A Hard Place isn't your typical band they are incorporating two genres to try to bridge the gap. This eclectic band of friends have the world and determination in their eyes.
