And for 14-year-old Canadian Pop/AC singer, Michala Todd, music is her way of expressing a passion for life. That’s a lot to say about a young teenage artist, but it’s a testament to Michala’s true love of music, and of living life to the fullest. Performing isn’t just what she does, but who she is: a talented young performer who, despite her remarkable string of accomplishments early in life, possesses an insatiable appetite to both broaden her extraordinary skills, and to perform for all who will listen. With talent as huge as Michala’s, it won’t be long before audiences will listen from coast to coast. Vocally trained since the tender age of 8, and a student of a myriad of art forms – including guitar, piano, dance and theatre – Michala is poised to break out as a Pop/Rock performer of note. She’s already a celebrity in her hometown of Tottenham, Ontario, an idyllic community just 50 kilometres northwest of Toronto. It’s symbolic that Michala lives in the shadows of Canada’s largest city: her time to shine in the limelight is just around the corner. Michala’s latest major project involves collaborating with legendary songwriter, Cyril Rawson, whose songs have been recorded by superstars including Anne Murray, Alanah Myles, Keith Urban, Gretchin Wilson, Reba McEntire, and even as diverse as Nancy Sinatra, and many more artists over the past 30-plus years. Also working on Michala’s current project: highly-regarded artist/songwriter/producer, John Acosta, who has also written for artists such as pop duo SKY, Canadian Idol Winner Ryan Malcolm, and Carol Welsman. Cyril and John were amazed that at the young age of 14, Michala was able to do all her own background vocals, something very rare in an artist this young.
