Bio: Born March 29th, 1984, Ashley Miers is an heiress in a 4-generation Rock N’ Roll lineage. As the granddaughter of the Rock ‘N Roll Hall-of-Fame’s Tommy Jelsma, owner of the Royal Grove Night Club in Lincoln, Nebraska, Ashley was exposed to music and performance straight from the cradle. This creative coquette was aesthetically inspired and immersed in the exciting world of entertainment throughout her childhood, watching the behind-the-scenes business of the music world and exploring the alluring mysteries of exclusive access. Ashley’s innate passion compelled her to consistently study dance, piano, theatre and singing, participating in a variety of classes and programs both in and after school. Ashley taught herself to play guitar and began her forays into songwriting as an adolescent inspired by the contemplative lyrics of Red Hot Chili Peppers front-man Anthony Kiedis. In 2002, Ashley commenced her undergraduate studies at the University of Denver where she enrolled in Neuroscience, Philosophy, Biology and Communication. During this time, Ashley began experimenting with music software as her songwriting skills continued to develop. At the age of 19, Ashley wrote a poem of admiration to the Red Hot Chili Peppers fan club and was immediately contacted by Anthony Kiedis’s father Blackie Dammett. Mr. Dammett mentored and encouraged Ashley’s writing aptitude. He also invited Ashley into the band’s private inner circle, gaining her backstage access during the By The Way and Stadium Arcadium tours at venues in Colorado, New Mexico, Michigan and Illinois. Ashley took advantage of her time at university to travel, visiting Iceland, Norway, Russia, Poland, Belgium, France, Ireland, Spain, Australia, Mexico, the Caribbean, Singapore and Japan. At the age of 21, Ashley began exploring modeling, acting and entertainment as a career interest, and upon graduation, she followed her artistic callings all the way to LA. Despite her rock royalty background and fateful musical encounters, Ashley never thought to consider a music career. At a party during the 2008 Oscars, word got out that Ashley was a secret singer/songwriter, and demands for her melodies began to pour in. Within the short span of a year, Ashley went from playing her first open mic to performing at historic Hollywood venues including the Pig ‘N Whistle, Cat Club, Derby, Crane’s and the Whisky-a-Go-Go – some of the very same venues where the Chili Peppers had ascended to fame twenty years before. Established industry professionals began to take notice of Ashley and groom her for the spotlight. By summer, Ashley had produced her first EP, the 3-song compilation “Unlocked” recorded and produced with Erik Colvin in Hollywood. Quickly learning the ropes of the business, Ashley opened a creative services and production company – Violet Vista Ventures – at the beginning of 2009. Under its umbrella, she is developing her first full-length album, producing music videos, working on several collaborative partner-projects and organizing a band to support her performances. Friends and mentors include Alissa Moreno (hit songwriter, Rascal Flatts “Every Day”), Erik Colvin (Neuromance, Modified by Man), Guy Couturier (Earshot, Modified by Man), Rolfe Kent (Composer: Failure to Launch, Just Like Heaven, Wedding Crashers, Sideways, Mean Girls), Mike Wolpe (Composer: Smallville, One Tree Hill, Discovery Channel, History Channel, PBS), Alan Oday (“Undercover Angel”, #1 Billboard Magazine 1977) and many others. Only time will tell what is destined to be. Meanwhile, this enthusiastic ingénue is blissfully following her charm on a stardust trail through the magical metropolis of entertainment’s epicenter and hoping for the best.
