Biography

With a voice that soars strong and full and hushes soft and sweet, Ashley pulls you into her songs of life’s hardships and hopes. With a voice that soars strong and full and hushes soft and sweet, Ashley pulls you into her songs of life’s hardships and hopes. Often compared to Stevie Nicks or Jewel, her sound is something you won’t soon forget. Indie-rock infused with finger style guitar, and a subtle dreamy hint of Mazzy Star. Ashley first took the stage as a solo performer, playing anywhere and everywhere as often as possible. From bars to backyards, and charity events to local radio, Ashley was stepping out and finding her place among the cover bands that ruled the Decatur scene. Quickly becoming a presence in that local music scene, she released her solo album, Last One Standing, in the summer of 2008, which led to the introduction of her future band mates. Comfortable and content as an acoustic based singer-songwriter, Ashley was somewhat surprised that her new songs seemed as if they were begging for a band. Teaming up with friends and fellow musicians Matt Comerford and Ian Grindstaff, Ashley was quickly inspired to get back into the studio. What follows next is a sophisticated collection of 14 original songs on her full-band debut, Most Likely To…, This album simply demands your attention, and finds Ashley and Co. poised and primed to do exactly that.
