In the fall of 2008 guitar players Jordan Bishop and Sean Monaghan began jamming out of Philadelphia, PA with the idea of creating a metal band that sticks out among others. For well over a year they would get together as much as possible to write and practice to keep their dream alive. When it came time to find others musicians to play with them, they had no luck. They tried out various musicians to fill the vacant bass and drum positions but nobody could understand what they were truly trying to do with their music.
A new year came around and in 2010 they started jamming with drummer Anthony Gaber and Assayer was born. The band wrote an original song in their first two practices and the chemistry was instant. Things were going well for Assayer but to continue with their music and to start playing shows they need to find a bass player to backbone the band. Jordan contacted Mike Winsor , a bass player who he played with in their previous band, Dead Enemy Suicide.
Mike came to a few practices and learned all of the band’s material in a short time and joined in the writing process for new songs they were working on. Assayer was now a full band that is working harder then ever to get them selves out there and is looking for shows
