Ben Guihan

Ben Guihan was born in central vermont in August of 1989, his father a songwriter, mother an artist. His very early years were spent in a sketchbook, later he stumbled onto the stage and found himself acting all throughout high school. Guihan picked up the guitar when he was fifteen and by the time he had graduated high school his interests were shifting. Ben Guihan was born in central vermont in August of 1989, his father a songwriter, mother an artist. His very early years were spent in a sketchbook, later he stumbled onto the stage and found himself acting all throughout high school. Guihan picked up the guitar when he was fifteen and by the time he had graduated high school his interests were shifting. Theater was slowly taking a back seat to the guitar and he stopped playing the electric almost entirely. At college Ben started playing in storefronts and in a local coffee house. He surrounded himself with people that could help him improve both his writing and guitar playing at the same time he was trying to find out all he could about people like Pete Seeger, Joan Baez, and Liam Clancy. As the desire to grow musically increased however, he became less invested in the lessons his traditional classes had to offer, it would not be unusual to see Ben skipping class only to go to the library and read ballad books.
