San Antonio, TX
Bennik has been through a lot in life, but his love for music has never changed.
Indigenous from San Antonio, TX, he grew up with a natural ear for music. His past influences were classical, blues, jazz, and hard rock. He enjoyed listening to a variety of artists and bands like Journey, Steve Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, Rush, Metallica, Miles Davis, Chick Corea, and Tchaikovsky.
After highschool, he played with the U.S. Army, where he performed playing guitar between 1993-1997.
After leaving the Army in '97, he dove into the school of hard knocks while working in many different odd jobs, ranging from customer service rep. to field technician for cable companies. It was during this time he learned a lot about people and the struggles of minimum wage lifestyles.
With a continued passion to re-enter music venue, he purchased a Yamaha Clavinova piano, a Dell laptop, and an 8-track multi recorder to quickly pour all his emotions and experiences into his song writing - which now brings us here.
His songs are about love, disappointments, hope, philosophy, and above all, knowing that there is a GOD. He is now influenced with artists like Billy Joel, The Beatles, and Bruce Hornsby.
The motto that drives him to write: Once you stop dreaming, you die.
“By God, Thank God, for God!” ~ dedicated to my father, Lupe.
