Beth’s story is that of a small town girl with big dreams and an even bigger heart. She has traveled from her home on Vancouver Island, BC to Nashville, Tennessee where she recorded her debut album “Open Road.” She did this with the help and support of her community and is excited to present them, and the world, with her new music. After spending four years studying Classical music and one year as a student of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Beth decided to pursue the music that came naturally to her: Country. This new adventure has taken her to Nashville, TN where she recorded her debut “Open Road” at the renowned studios of Dark Horse Recording (Faith Hill, Terri Clark, Alison Krauss, Martina McBride, Trace Atkins, Taylor Swift, etc…). Along with the recording she also attended a songwriting course with the Nashville Songwriter Association International. The experience of working with some of the world’s best in the business inspired her to write five new songs in a matter of days, all of which can be found on the album. She worked with writers Grady Walker and Marc-Alan Barnette, as well as talented musicians that among others have played on records including Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Ricky Skaggs, and many more. Beth is confident that being surrounded by such talent brought out the best in her. She is proud to show the songs that have come from these sessions. Beth has an extensive background in live performance and has performed with the Vancouver Island Opera Company, Bard to Broadway, Echo Players Theater, at events including The annual Glassie Awards, Concert for a cure, and many more… as well as shared the stage with the great Canadian band Chilliwack, Trooper, Johnny Reid, Jessie Farrell and many more. From Opera to Country, you could say Beth’s life has changed as much as her music has. Beth will tell you “Music isn’t a job, it’s a passion.” She “can’t imagine doing anything else” with her life. Beth realized that in order to follow her dreams she was going to need to be honest with herself and make some serious changes to her lifestyle. “At age 21, I was a size 20 and wasn’t happy with myself or comfortable in my skin. I came to terms that even if I had an amazing voice, nobody would take me seriously in this business. After almost two years I have lost 80 pounds (and counting) and have never been happier and more confident. I knew that if I could be that disciplined that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.” With a strong debut including power ballads, up-tempo country rock, mid-tempo songs about love and the journey of life, as well as a taste of traditional country, Beth’s songs are bound to get some serious spin time at home, in the truck, and on the radio. People relate to songs that share real emotions. Beth’s songs provide this and more with her honest delivery, raw emotion and powerhouse voice.
