B.Grimm first fell in love with hip hop music in his early teenage years. His early influences included Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, Nice & Smooth and Black Sheep (just to name a few). At the time, he would write lyrics constantly, but didn't know anyone to produce any music for him. His first recorded demos were done using an old 4-track recorder. He used instrumentals that he pulled from B-Sides of cassette singles. In 2000, growing frustrated with the lack of original instrumentals, he turned to his friend, R.A. Werner. Werner was a bassist by trade, but he could play any instrument he touched. Together, using that same 4-track recorder, they recorded 5 songs under the name 'Crossbreed'. The formula was simple, Werner would compose beats using a drum machine, keyboards, guitars and bass, and Grimm would supply the vocals. They decided that they would add members to thier 'band', so they could play live shows. Johnny Crunch (guitars) and Animal Jones (vocals), both longtime friends of Grimm, joined the band. The name of the band was soon changed to X-Breed. They began writing and recording songs at a feverish rate, and by 2001 they had professionally recorded the full length LP, Reduced To Nothing. In the months that followed, they played live shows throughout Northern NJ, and eventually added a female drummer, Huneysuckle, to the band. They recorded another 3 song demo before the band ultimately split up, citing creative differences. It was at this time that Grimm began taking his solo music more seriously. He released his first solo LP in 2006 titled 'Free Hip Hop'. His 2nd solo album 'I Hate Hip Hop' was released in 2008. Grimm still collaborates with other MCs as well. Most notably, Akwalungs aka Mike Booth, with whom he released 'The Fantazmic 4 - The Self Titled LP' in 2004, and Stresswon, with whom he released 'Grimm & Stress - The Secret Origins EP' in 2005. In 2010, B.Grimm released his newest effort 'Everything Happens...'
