What is hip-hop? It's a culture, It's music and It's a dream. It's MY dream. Some people talk polotics and others talk sports, well I talk music. But not only do I talk it, I live it. My life has been a merry-go-round of events. Weather good or bad, they all make for great stories to tell when I write. When I sit down to write a song, it's not like sitting down to write an essay for example, where all you want to do is write as much as possible, as fast as possible. When i write a song, the listener has to be able to relate in some sort of way. If it's coming from a rough childhood or being involved in gangs, or just having been in love. If i can reach the person between the headphones then i feel like I've done my part. I want a person to be thinking about that verse in his or her head even after they're done listening and be able to apply it to everyday life. I write about thing I've seen and things I've experienced. Not things just to make me sound "Gangsta". People are sick or hearing about gangs in da hood and rappers glorifying violence in a way that kids think it's cool to mimic it. I stay true to myself and i won't be corrupted. I've been rapping and producing/editing for about 7 years or since I was 15 and it's something that I hope to continue doing until I'm unable to speak anymore. My passion is my drive. Theres just no better feeling to me then when I'm chillin between my headphones and its just me and the microphone. I started making beats 2 years ago but I would like to put it aside if I can to focus more on writing. It feels like every verse I write keeps getting better and better, so the more I can write I feel the more I can progress. My goal is to ultimately make a living off of music but without sacrificing who I am as a person. If I lose myself in the process then everything I've fought so hard to achive was all in vein. My short term goals within the next 6 months include performing at a major venue, writing and recording 10 new possible rough draft songs for an album and to start final recordings on some songs for an album. Some long term goals include being signed to a major label and make a career out of music. I would love to be able to travel to many places I've never seen to perform live shows. I would also like to create a group of many artists of varrying styles and incorperate other genres of music into Hip-Hop for a fresh new aproach on the music. I want to take the world by storm. And I truly believe that I am capable.
