BoarWater was formed in early 1996 by four young musicians who met working on a farm on the outskirts of Gympie in Qld Australia. Gernot Gabriel and Joel Wickman were on guitars and vocals, James Connor on a homemade drum kit with an old guitar case as a base drum and a Veedub hubcap as a cymbal, and Damien Richardson was on saxophone, percussion and vocals. The boys all moved into an old Queenslander, which became know as the Greenhouse, in a small township called Kia-Ora only half an hour from Rainbow Beach. They were surrounded by cow paddocks, hills, serenity and sunshine. It was here that they created a unique sound that became quite well known in the region. With a real drum kit from a pawnshop, BoarWater would travel around playing at parties, campfires and gatherings and were often joined by other musicians from around the area. This helped mold their sound and style into something quite different from anything else at the time. Their music was in constant motion; a trait that still remains with the BoarWater of today. Remaining member Gernot, who is currently studying Audio Engineering, is now joined by a Blind Drummer! - Glenn trapnell; Songwriter & keyboardest - Lance Carbines, Ted from Canada on guitar & vocals, and finally after many years: a Bass player - Joe (who has a last name too). Boarwater is back. Boarwater is Strong. Boarwater is ready to Rock!
