Moved to Austin, TX to make music in my smaller, sadder bedroom, only now, ’tis more difficult because the weather is amazing. This is a solo project that’s been going on for about 7 years. Songs are, generally, the result of MIDI generated synth/drums loops (created by me), mixed with some more organic things like my voice, guitar, hand claps, and bass. Also, I don’t think I’ll ever really learn how to ‘master’ my recordings, so yeah, it’s on the low to mid-fi side. I’ve been called “sensitive Beck,” which is a nice compliment, and, to me, seems pretty accurate.....at least, in terms of style. Definitely doesn’t have the production value of contemporary Beck. Generally speaking, what I appreciate in other people’s music: simple, catchy melodies; honest lyrics; a sense of space; a little experimentation. I’m a big fan of synths, drum machines, acoustic guitar, chorused-out guitar leads.......I’ll just admit it: I like a weak, thin voice. Hope my stuff is the culmination of this. Thanks for listening!
