BRIDGET BARKAN is a vibrant young artist born and raised in New York City, a storyteller with an urban yet earth child, raw sense of truth, vision and a message to deliver. The jazzy melodic content of her music is reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and the passion of the 70’s love revolution. Her lyrics are poetic, unique, uplifting, at times tragic and even humorous. She invokes Joni Mitchell with her clever phrasing and rhyme. It’s her old school, bluesy sarcasm that fills the room with laughter and her search for meaning and wisdom that brings the crowd to tears. Bridget Barkan’s music dances on the middle ground with lessons learned from joy and pain. This red haired siren began her career as a child actress, but her musical skills were also apparent, when cassette tapes were filled with story songs at the age of 3.
