C4bal is a Latin Grammy winning rapper from Brazil. A versatile songwriter with hundreds of songs and two albums to his credit, he recorded his first album with Universal Music, then created his own record label and released a successful second album. Now, as he embarks on an international career, he remembers the words of his mentor, David "Disco D" Shayman. "C4bal is one of the biggest rappers in Brazil, period. His first big single “Senhorita” sold 100,000 records and 100,000 ringtones. The amount of ringtone sales is a record in Brazil. Plus he had lived in Brooklyn as a kid with his mom, his english is perfect. So I was like – have you ever recorded a song bi-lingually? He said he thought about it but never really done it. Then I said - why don’t we do it? So he’s like – alright, I’ll give it a try, I’ll take it home and write something. And I’m like – what are you doing right now, why don’t you write it right here? We recorded the first song and it was off the fuckin’ hook. So I’m like, we’re really onto something - what are you doing tomorrow? The next day we did another song and it was just as good as the first one if not better. In three and a half weeks we cut fourteen songs and shot two videos in the favelas in Rio." In a few months, C4bal toured the US, was featured on Chamillionaire's "Ridin" official international remix, Coolio's "Drop Something", NBA Live 07 soundtrack and started recording an album with Disco D in New York on December, 2006. Then, C4bal went back to Brazil for the holidays and only days later, on January 23, 2007, Disco was found in his mother and stepfather's basement. He had hung himself. He was 26. Dealing with the lost of Disco D was hard for C4bal, more than his mentor, D was his best friend, but C4bal refused his life to be forgotten and took on the mission to continue and honor his legacy. In memory of Disco D and their project BRAZA, to represent brazilian culture, music and brazilians everywhere, C4bal is working on his new album "Açaí Music", but more than music, it's a brazilian movement, Brazil is the future, ask Will.I.Am ("the best place on the planet"), and the reason why Açaí? For centuries, the people of the Amazon have revered Açaí (pronounced "ah-sigh-ee") for its unique nutritional properties. Their tribal warriors consumed it as a source of strength, energy and vitality. Today, Açaí is feeding people everywhere, being exported from Brazil to the rest of the world. Like Latin Grammy winning brazilian musician Ivan Lins said, "he wants to make healthy records; albums that have a pre-determined and defined concept, and that are mainly aimed at his international career." C4bal recorded songs with producer Benny Blanco (Britney Spears, Katy Perry) and is currently working with producers Kassiano (Brazil), Madkutz (Portugal), DJ Katch (Germany), DJ Warrior and J. Cardim. "Shout out to my guy C4bal. On some real G shit. Up and coming Brazilian artist. Ya'll need to check him out. Lot of Cardim joints on deck." C4bal took part in several festivals in Brazil, Europe and Asia. He also recorded with Kanye West cousin and backing vocalist, Tony Williams. "I was touring the world last year during the Glow In The Dark international leg and linked up with brazilian rapper C4bal while in São Paulo. We got a dope joint and I learned some portuguese. C4bal and I did our thing while Ye did his "Ego" verse in the next room." C4bal was nominated and won the brazilian breakthrough artist of 2004 (Hutuz Awards), 2005 (Multishow Awards) and best brazilian Rap artist of 2005, 2008 and 2010 (DJ Sound Awards). After a very busy year, C4bal is ready to record his first international album, with Hip Hop, Samba, Bossa Nova influences and for the very first time in history, C4bal, a rapper from São Paulo collaborated on Baile Funk tracks. "Jet setter swag brasileiro, a go getter on a mission, outside the box, I'm a rapper with a vision" "Açaí representer, c'mon, you know why, portuglish Rap inventor, Santos Dumont fly" "Açaí Music", only the finest organic ingredients – selected at the peak of freshness.
