The environment that Calis was raised upon most definitely made him street smart without a doubt. Calis Bain was only twelve years old when he discovered that he knew how to write and produce songs. Being able to look up to his older brother Robert Penigar was a blessing for him. Calis says that his older brother Robert is responsible for his passion that he has for music. Performing for ten years now, Calis got his first breaks by doing shows at local places in his hometown of Milwaukee. Performances at places like African World Festival, Friendship Social & Entertainment Club, Phoenix Nightclub, and the like. Inspired by the lyricists of the Hip-Hop game, Calis understands how to best make his mark with significant and unique impact just as many other artist before him. However, in the meanwhile Calis Bain only has one burning desire to fulfill towards his success, which is nothing less or nothing more than making it out the hood. Calis says, that the key to being successful is all in your mind. When God designed man he provided man with everything that he needed to succeed throughout the journeys of life. Calis Bain also says that there’s nothing in this entire world that can’t be done if you put your mind to it. Many people live there lives thinking that everything is suppose to come to them. Calis says that even for him it was hard to position himself toward success. Sacrificing everything but his dreams, Calis Bain left his very own birth place to follow what he believed in. He started his journey from Milwaukee, WI all the way to Oakland, CA without a doubt in his mind that he was going to make it happen. Calis Bain says that the only thing that’s worse then failing, is not trying at all.
