Step back and take a breath of fresh air with the voice of soulful newcomer, Candace Coles. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, this singer/songwriter began her career singing into a hairbrush at the tender age of 8.
This December marks the release of her debut independent project Fingerprints, entirely produced by DDorsey Music in Brooklyn, NY. After two consecutive years of writing and recording, Coles is finally offering her EP on Itunes, CDBaby and many other music websites.
The more Candace flushed out her writings the more she discovered her impressive lyrical talent for creating songs that move both the soul and the body. Fingerprints has been described as "An epic tale of life and soul searching realities relished over heavy, sultry beats, and live instrumentation". With song titles like "Saturated", "I Own the Night" and "Young Beautiful & Fabulous", there is no doubt this benevolent writer wants to share her passion for life with the world!
Her EP also features music co-written by Grammy-Award winning songwriter Gordon Chambers. "After listening to [Candace's] song "The Greatest" I knew I wanted to be in on her project", says Chambers.
Several heart-felt writing sessions lead the two to compose the songs "Nervous", a surreal portrayal of the sincere emotion one may feel while striving to achieve their goals, and a duet entitled "Love You Better", which is also featured on Gordon's upcoming project, Art and Soul.
When asked about her big career plans Candace replied, "I've noticed, every time I follow my heart the outcome is powerful and since this music is in my heart - I know something is destined to come from it."
