Biography

Who are you?: I'm Cassie Lynne. Nice to meet you! I've been writing songs and/or poetry for as long as I can remember, I just didn't write them down till about 5th grade. Looking back, I kind of feel sorry for my neighbors at the time. I used to sing as loud as I could...EVERY time I went outside. I've been singing even longer than that, and knew that I wanted to (in some capacity) record them eventually. I've been happily married for 5 years now (going on 6), and have 3 children ...

I've been happily married for 5 years now (going on 6), and have 3 children who are wonderful. So who am I? I'm a mother, wife, and musician. :) How did you choose what went on the CD? Journey Down A Road? This CD is a collection of everything that I've gone through mentally, physically, and spiritually over the last 4 years or so. Its been really tough but God has provided the right support for me, and my family has been wonderful through it all. This group of songs is kind of the best description of those years... believe me, there were more that could have gone on here! ..Why do you write?.. I write because I need to process what is happening to me. I can talk to 20 people about the same thing, and not feel like its controlled or settled. When I write about it, it gives me closure to the circles that my analytical mind runs! Music is a way for me to fully express whats happening when I don't have the words. I am not an eloquent speaker, but I feel like I can explain more accurately and be better heard through written words. ..What kind of music is it and who are your influences?.. I don't know... the kind you listen to? Its Instrumental, Singer/Songwriter, Christian, kinda laid back and recorded all on a keyboard. The Genres are so broad anymore I don't know the parameters to describe it! I have always listened to Amy Grant, she is such an inspiration with all that she has gone through and withstood, her music has switched genres 3 or 4 times and she still is in there working, I admire her as a person and artist very much. I also like to listen to Mandy Moore, I like the mellow sound she has, and her style. I think she uses her voice very well and makes smart choices in her songs. New influences? Sara Bareilles. I like that she creates upbeat songs that she could really carry with just a piano (as I have no band, I'm a solo act at the moment!). She is refreshing, and from what I've seen, writes very well! I also have been listening to Colbie Caillat. She is a Singer/Songwriter from Hawaii. She writes softer music that is simply feel-good. It's fun to sing along, it has fun melodies, and it makes sense! ..Any comments you'd like to make?.. If you have any questions.. just ask! I'd love to have more to post up here!
