CAZUALTYZ Brandon DiLeonardi was born on June 21st in Baltimore City, Maryland. He started rapping at the age of 15 to a boom box while walking down the streets of Baltimore City. One of his major influences in the rap game was Wu Tang Clan. He began rapping and soon realized his talent. He started to write raps and enter contests that 92Q had hosted. Everyone was so impressed with how talented he was, he took first place in the contests. He started going to the studio at the age of 17 and it was in the studio that Cazualtyz was born. It was then he met his partner Dan. Once he met Dan he got the nickname Caz and Dan got the nickname Daz. Then they came across a rapper by the name of D. Reign and started the group “Fallen Angelz”. They put a 8 song Demo together and took it to NY to see if they could get some regonization in the music industry. They started a scifer on the streets of NY City and built a huge crowd. A&R’s from different labels were passing out their business cards as they were passing by. Kenny Wilshire, an A&R for Sony/ Lobo Recordings and wanted to set up an appointment for them with Cory & Jeff Rooney. At the time Cory & Jeff were out of town in California getting ready for the Grammys. Cory Rooney told Kenny to put Caz, Daz, and D. Reign up for the night. Cory & Jeff Rooney jumped on a plane and flew in to have a meeting them. Cory and Jeff liked the “Fallen Angelz” project so much they were ready to sign them and put them on a huge East Coast tour. 911 happened soon after and messed up everything in NY City at the time. Not giving up they found an investor and made up a press kit. Once getting their press kit, they hit the streets of Baltimore City hard selling about 8,000 copies of their CD, “On The Uprize”. HBO became interested in the duo for a show they run called “The Wire”. Caz and D. Reign played roles in Season 2 and also recorded “Bounce Wit Us”, a song played in “The Wire”. Upon their adventure with “The Wire”, they met Method Man, Caz had the opportunity to freestyle with Method Man, who was impressed with his rap freestyle skills. By this time their music career seemed like it would take off. Major names in the business, including the Lilz brothers were taking a like to “Fallen Angelz”. But by this time unfortunatlly Caz and D. Reign began to not get along so Caz and Daz decided to to move forward without D. Reign. Cazualtyz was never pleased with any of the producers that he worked with , so him and Daz built their own studio with all the money they had together .
