CEO SPEEDO born Kai Michael Washington came into the world April 4, 1989 to Norbert and LaTanya Washington. SPEEDO was born and raised on the “South-side” of Atlanta. CEO SPEEDO born Kai Michael Washington came into the world April 4, 1989 to Norbert and LaTanya Washington. SPEEDO was born and raised on the “South-side” of Atlanta. His famed nick-name (SPEEDO) was derived from his great-grandmother Harriet Phillips version “SPEEDY” because he was born fast. At the age of 12 SPEEDO became interested in writing raps. “ I already had a musical background from my moms side of the family. My grandfather and his brothers had a music group in the 60’s and we all played instruments.” It wasn’t long before SPEEDO discovered influences from T.I., Ludacris, Young Jeezy, UGK and Outkast. “ I definitely give respect to all the African American late greats!!! I even show love to Journey, Chicago, ELO and most of all QUEEN, I love their creativity!” SPEEDO quickly became apart of every talent show presented at Grady High (his Alma Mater as of 2007). It was at a bar-b- que that long time friend Brandon Williams made a joke about how hot it was in the basement of their parents home. “ Beezy ( Brandon Williams) said it felt like a Sweatshop in our make shift studio. lol! it stuck and we ran with it.” In 2005 SPEEDO and his brother/ president and producer Cameron “Camterrell” Washington created the group “Sweatshop Click”. In the Spring of 2006, SPEEDO and Camterrell made Sweatshop Click an independent recording label. It later became “SweatShop Click Productions”. After becoming the CEO he changed his name to CEO SPEEDO. In 2007 SPEEDO had a hit single entitled “Southside”. “ It reign over 107.9’s Battle Ground for five consecutive days making it retire in Deerty Boyz history with E.T. and J Knicks.” I was told by CEO SPEEDO that later while interning for famed label DTP, he ran into J Knicks at the world famous “Birthday Bash” concert and was told “I better see you on this stage next year.” CEO SPEEDO Spends most of his time in the studio with brother, president and producer Camterrell awaiting their success.
