Born and raised in Canada by her parents who are of Jamaican and English decent, Chantelle Rose Wynter aka Channie, discovered her passion of singing at the age of five. Although the young girl loved to sing, she was very shy and therefore did not display her talent for others to see until the age of ten. At the age of 13, Chantelle moved to Boston Massachusetts where her Grandparents encouraged her to join competition choirs. After 2 years of competing in the South District Music Festival & the S.E.M.S.B.A Music Festival, she then realized that she wanted to pursue a career in singing. Naturally, after graduating high school, majoring in Jazz Contemporary Music at Humber College seemed to be the next step for the aspiring singer. After one and a half semesters at Humber, Chantelle realized that going to school for music was some how killing her passion to sing, and decided to drop out. This however, did not stop her from pursuing a career in music. In late 2008, Channie was introduced to singer Ray Robinson through a high school friend. Ray began to act as a mentor to Channie and till this day the two remain good friends. Today, the young woman is writing her own music and putting in the hard work, time, and effort to one day fulfill her dreams of being a professional singer.
