Listening to Chris Smith’s autobiographical debut album "Swingsets" will take you on a journey not unlike the journey we all ourselves are on. At first Smith’s lyrics relate to sensitive and obscure despair, but his songwriting talents are significant as he carries the listener beyond that. “I hope to show a provision for healing to broken hearts. My songs tend to be about the darker side of internal struggles, but with a clear vision of hope. That is how life is – our personal struggles with selfishness, pride, and our own inadequacies. But through all that we must believe in the power to be changed.
