In 1998 she began singing on the Praise and Worship team at First Church of the Nazarene in Decatur, IL, eventually leading worship for nine months as Interim Worship Leader. "Leading worship was a very important part of my development as a leader and as a Christian. It has impacted my life in a great way." Her song "What Can I Do?" was performed in October 2008 at her home church. She sent the lyrics and melody to Grammy Award winner Rhett Jarrett of Soulful Productions and he arranged the music. "Rhett did an amazing job. He is truly anointed." she said. "As a wife and mother, I feel very deep emotions of both my family and the people around me."What Can I Do?" is an attempt to show the world that you can be at the bottom and Jesus is waiting with an open hand." Christy is currently writing and seeking out other opportunities to share both her testimony and her songs.
