Born in New York City of proud Jamaican parents, Chyna-Nicole read the back of Michael Jackson’s album covers at the tender age of 5 and begun her song-writing techniques. From choreographing dance routines in high school (Connecticut), to recording R&B demos while at Howard University, Chyna’s passion for music remained consistent. After working for various media arenas (NY), she relocated to Kingston, Jamaica to record an album with local producer Carl Williams (her father). Although the album did not materialize, Chyna Nicole obtained the role of a disc jockey at Zip103FM. Her music selection of old school Hip Hop and Dancehall lead her to be one of the most popular DJ’s in a short time span. With rising popularity, producers welcomed her to record. With singles "Baby Be Mine (Black Mind Records), "Destiny" (Arrows), "All That I Ask" (Real McCoy), "Come Yah Baby" (Geezy Records), she was named the "New Artist of the Week - May 14, 2003" on the award winning radio program, Entertainment Buzz on Irie FM. She toured UK and Canada as back up vocalist for Mikey Spice, landed television commercial spots, as well as hosting for RETV’s live shows with artist such as Buju, Sizzla, Luciano and other great Artists. Fast-forward, Chyna Nicole met Chaka who introduced to Earl Chin of Rockas TV and Squeeze of 93.5 where she landed a radio Host position. She hosted on R5 Radio/(ROOTS ROCK REGGAE HIP HOP & R&B /93.5 FM /New York) with Program director/owner Mikey Sterling for about one year. In 2006 "Why Should I" was released by Powermix Records/LightYear/Warner Bros. various Artist Reggae album created a buzz. She currently works with Uplift Label, Black Judah Productions, and others delivering that rare sound of Dance/R&B/Dancehall. As she continues her dream to pursue her dream, while teaching, the world can still tune in and listen to her incredible song structure, relatable writing skills with flavor-filled concepts, and voice that is definitely identifiable!
