Anyone can start a band just to emulate those who plugged in before them, and anyone can copy a trend, ride a bandwagon or shape an image without ever saying anything of substance. But in a watered-down and polarized scene, Consensus have chosen their own route, telling the story of Modernity's Greatest Sin. Consensus found inspiration in unique locations for their debut EP release, recorded at Burning Bridge Recordings in Nashville, Tennessee with co-producers Joel Lauver and Eli Chastain. Modernity's Greatest Sin, which at times recalls classic post-hardcore outfits like Glassjaw and Thursday, Modern-Rock staples such as Incubus, and subversive influences like As Cities Burn, showcases a young band making a statement well beyond their years. Eschewing the urge to take the safe route, Consensus have chosen to make the music they want to make, and without a tinge of regret. Having shared the stage with bands of varying genres, from Gwen Stacy to Life on Repeat, Consensus are poised to usher in the changing of the guard in the world of aggressive music. Consensus will be releasing their debut EP, Modernity's Greatest Sin independently on October 15, and will be supporting the release throughout the fall and winter.
